About Me

I have always been a very artistic person. I have been drawing and creating art for as long as I can remember. It has always been a passion, however, I had always been told that it was just a hobby, and not something you can make a career of.  I found this to be true for a very long time, though it never dampened my love for art.

In the year prior to graduation everyone was bustling around, deciding what college they would attend; talk to counselors and take college tours. I felt very out of place.  Though I’ve always been good at school and was part of many of the clubs and athletic teams at the school, I had no clue what to pursue as a career.  I had already taken many of my prerequisites for college in high school, and I had set myself up to become valedictorian, I was at a loss.  Nothing felt right, and going to school just didn’t seem like something that I was supposed to do.  Knowing my artistic abilities, I started looking into different careers featuring art.  Many of these careers included solely digital art or designing and nothing really peaked my interest.

A few people I know had gotten tattooed by Chris at Thousand Oaks and recommended I look into tattooing.  This being a career path I never thought of, really intrigued me.  this career path isn’t exactly at the career fair or in the personality quizzes. I decided to message him and show up for an interview.

Being in this shop has taught me so much. Tattooing is so much more than it seems and it is such a truly fulfilling art.  The joy on peoples faces and the connections people make with their artist is so amazing to see. I am truly so blessed to have this opportunity.  I don’t know what I would be doing if I weren’t here.
